Leek picking leads to arrest

HUNTSVILLE - An Oxtongue Lake man will be in Huntsville court in a little more than one week to face criminal charges.

According to Huntsville OPP, some Oxtongue Lake residents were out for a walk on their back property on Monday where they found some people picking leeks. The property owners asked the people to leave, but were in turn threatened by them.

As a result of a police investigation, Jason Bradley, 31, was arrested and charged with uttering threats to injure an animal.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared in Bracebridge court on May 2. His case has been remanded to the Huntsville court on May 16.
