Well, the 49th annual Foley Fall Fair is now in the history books. A tip of the hat to all the Agricultural Society members and volunteers who worked so very hard to make everything happen.
The UCW (Otter Lake) would like to thank everyone who contributed baking to their pie booth at the fair this year.
They appreciate the generosity of those who supported the booth and thank them for another successful venture.  
The winner of the United Church Women’s quilt was Cheryl Graves, of Orrville, congratulations to her and thanks to everyone who bought tickets.
A huge thank you to my family for all their help in putting on the Foley Fair Horse Show, also thanks to all those who attended to make it a short but great show.
Congratulations to the high point English champion – Velvet Olyschlager and her horse Artex, and to the English Reserve Champion – Melissa Little with her horse Little Hart’s Liar’s Moon.
The Western High Point Champion was Sue Hart Little with Belle’s Princess and Western Reserve Champion was Cheyenne Little with Miss Kentucky Bluegrass.
A huge thank you to Little-Hart Construction for sponsoring our Western High Point Trophy.
Results of the Horse Shoe Tournament held in conjunction with the fair winners of the singles were as follows: first, Norm Swanson; second, Durrel Leonard; and third, Mid Kitchen. In the ladies singles: first, Lorrie Fenton; and second, Tabitha Stapleton. In men’s singles, first, Norm Swanson and second, Mid Kitchen.  Congratulations!
And a big thank you to Jamie and Shannon Dale from Pet Valu for sponsoring and running the fair’s annual Mutt Show! We appreciate your help and support!
Don’t forget the potluck and awards banquet will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 starting with dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Bring your favourite dish and dessert and come out to congratulate all your family and friends on their accomplishments.
Don’t forget to check the web site at www.foleyagriculturalsociety.ca for all the happenings and events and make sure you have Saturday, Oct. 27 marked on your calendar for our annual kid’s Halloween party.
Annual turkey supper
The St. Thomas's Anglican Church (Orrville) will be holding its annual turkey supper on Saturday, Sept. 22. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and runs through until 7:30 p.m. at the Orrville Community Centre, Highway 518.  Adults are $15, children under 12 are $5 and preschoolers eat free.
The menu consists of roast turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, vegetables, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade rolls, homemade pies, tea/coffee or juice. Everyone is welcome.
Parry Sound Anglers and Hunters
The Parry Sound Anglers and Hunters will be hosting another turkey shoot this Saturday, Sept. 15 at the clubhouse on Brooks Road.
Fun starts at 9:30 a.m. and goes until 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Next movie night in Rosseau is Friday, Sept. 21st with the feature Madagascar 3 – Europe’s Most Wanted. Movie starts at 7 p.m. at the Rosseau Memorial Hall.
The cost is only $5 a ticket, or show your Seguin Library card or your Lake Rosseau North Association membership and pay only $2.50.
On Friday, Oct. 12 come out to see Katie Perry – Part of Me.  Everyone welcome.
