Pickerel dinner

Legion News Branch 117

I'm just sitting here thinking in four months Christmas will have come and gone.
Where has the summer disappeared to?
All our toys we get from Santa will be broken and we will be looking for something new.
Just a reminder that our jam session will be held on September 9, with a new twist beginning this month; there will be a cover charge at the door of $3 per person or $5 a couple.
This will help us defray the cost of keeping our legion in the black and make it feasible to keep the doors open to the public for years to come.
This is an enjoyable break from your everyday activities. Beginning at 1 p.m. and going thru the afternoon, with fresh cut french fries available for purchase at just $2 a bowl and of course a drink from the bar, if you so desire.
We have some lovely old-time music with guitars, fiddles, piano, and depending on the day, other instruments are there too.
Singers and dancing for your pleasure, and of course the players pleasure too; they love to entertain.
Why don't you come in and let them entertain you too?
Also a reminder that the seating is limited for the pickerel dinner held on September, 22 with two sittings at 5:30  6:30 p.m. the menu consisting of pan-fried pickerel, oven roasted potatoes, fresh-cooked carrots, tossed salad, rolls, a homemade lemon dessert and coffee or tea all for $15.
Why not come in and pick up your tickets during bar hours, Tuesday to Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m.
It would be our pleasure to have you come into the legion and see what we have to offer.
The Hall is available for rent and of course catering can be arranged if you so desire.
Hope you all have a safe and happy Labour Day weekend and those driving, arrive safe and sound at your destination.
