The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) involving an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Nipissing Road in Seguin Township on Saturday August 26 at 6 p.m.
West Parry Sound OPP, Seguin Fire, and Parry Sound EMS attended the scene. A lone male rider was transported to the West Parry Sound Health Centre with life threatening injuries.
OPP investigation determined that the ATV rider was travelling southbound on Nipissing Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and skidded into the west ditch. The helmeted rider was ejected from the ATV. Excessive speed, and possibly alcohol, has been cited as contributing factors.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) assisted in the investigation. Victim Crisis Assistance and Referral Service (VCARS) volunteers provided crisis intervention.
Justin Gregory FRASER, 17 years old of Seguin, was pronounced deceased later Saturday evening. Next of kin notification was made.
A post mortem was conducted on Sunday, Aug. 26 and the cause of death determined to be blunt force injuries as a result of the collision.
