A general meeting of the Foley Agricultural Society will be held at the agricultural building, 60 Rankin Lake Road. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, starting at 7 p.m.

This meeting will be for general members to take part in a discussion and vote on the proposed memorandum of understanding between the Foley Agricultural Society and the Township of Seguin (regarding the transfer of property).
In accordance with our constitution, Article 8, section 2b, only persons who are paid members for the current year and were members for two previous years are entitled to vote at this meeting. For more information, please call Janet at (705) 378-1438.
Library book sale
This Saturday, Aug. 18, the Friends of Humphrey Library will hold their annual garage, book and bake sale at the gazebo beside the library at 15 Humphrey Dr. The sale starts at 8 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. There will be a draw for a gift basket and lots of great home made baking, as well as many great deals on gently used items. Check it out!
Anglers and hunters
The Parry Sound Anglers and Hunters will be hosting a historic firearms demonstration at its club, 41 Brooks Rd,, on Saturday, Aug. 25. Demonstrations start at 10 a.m. and run until about 12:30 p.m.
Participants will be welcome to shoot many of the firearms that will be on display. There will be related commentary to include references to the War of 1812. Some presenters will be in period costume. There is no charge for this event – friends and families welcome.
Rosseau Fall Fair
Make sure you have Saturday, Aug. 25, marked on your calendar for the 137th annual Rosseau Fall Fair. This event starts with a parade at 10 a.m. and runs all day with music, games, contests, food and fun for the whole family. Check the web site at www.rosseaufallfair.ca for information on exhibits and all the happenings at the fair.

And of course coming up on August 31 and September 1, the 49th annual Foley Fall Fair and Horse Show. Check the website at www.foleyagriculturalsociety.ca for information on the horse show, exhibits, mutt show, horseshoes, homemade pies, kids area and all the great games and entertainment taking place.

Next movie night in Rosseau will be Monday, Aug. 20, with the feature Dark Shadows starting at 7 p.m.
The cost is only $5 a person, but present your Seguin library card or your Rosseau Lake North membership and the cost is only $2.50 a person. Watch for Yogi Bear coming up on Monday, August 27.
