A Community Church Service and lunch will be held at Stewart Lake Beach on Sunday, Aug. 26, at 10:30 a.m. and everyone is welcome. Come for the Service and stay for the Fellowship.

The Friday, July 20 concert at MacTier United Church held by the MacTier Railroad Heritage Society was great. Attendance could have been better; however, musicians Katherine Wheatley and Wendal Ferguson put on a great show. You should have been there folks.
WISE dinner
The next WISE dinner, that’s Wellness Initiative for Seniors Engaged, will take place on Thursday, Aug.16 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the MacTier Arena Hall. Remember you must pre-register for this so they know how many will appear for supper. To pre-register call 1-800-567-0187, ext. 261 and talk to Jennifer Whiston. Final date for registration is August 14.
Both MacTier Public School construction and also the MacTier Water Tower painting and sandblasting are moving right along. The school yard at present looks like a bomb went off; however, be patient and by the end of August will look ready for classes in September.
With the hot, humid weather recently, the MacTier waterfront has been very active with bathers cooling off.
We could certainly use quite a bit of rain, things about town have never looked so dry and desolate. By the way the Township of Georgian Bay fire ban is still in effect. No burning.
We, as in other area communities are having bear problems pretty well on a nightly occasion. Do not leave your garbage outside or else get a bear garbage bin. No one has been harmed as yet, however do not approach them if nearby.
MacTier Big Weekend
Again, a reminder that the MacTier Big Weekend is fast approaching. That being on August 3, 4, and 5. Lots of activities for young and old to take in during that time.

The second annual MacTier Children’s Festival is coming up August 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Stewart Lake Park, rain location MacTier Arena.
Activities are face painting, arts and crafts, decorating T-shirts, healthy snacks. Please register by contacting Jennifer Whiston at 1-800-567-0187, ext 261.
