Skating club hosts craft and garage sale fundraiser, Saturday

MacTier News

The MacTier All Saints Anglican Church will be holding its Spring Bazaar at the church hall on Saturday, May 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come have lunch and browse the bake and other tables.
Two other important items are on the same day, May 26th, that being the 60th
Anniversary celebrations of Norman and Joan McDonald. This is from 1 to 4 p.m. at home, 381 High Street. Drop in anytime and help celebrate this special day. Best wishes only.
The other important item on the same day, May 26, is a public meeting concerning
Kilty Bay road to McCombes Road. This will be held at the MacTier Arena Hall from 1 to 4 p.m.
Discussions will be on the future construction of finishing the road. Everyone please try to attend and check out plans and details. Mr. Ernie Middleton, the construction manager and township council officials will be on hand.
Coming up Saturday, May 19, at the MacTier Arena is the MacTier Figure Skating Club Crafty and Garage Sale fundraiser on the arena floor.
This is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and I believe there is still some table space available if you wish to get in on the action. Each table berth is $30 and you can call 705-375-2580 or 705-375-1647 for details.
By the sound of the weather forecast, it is supposed to be a fantastic sunny holiday weekend.
Let’s hope it’s a safe and fun weekend for all.
Turning to some Township of Georgian Bay news, the new public members of the committee of adjustment are announced. They are Mike Ferguson, Jeff Child, Jim Bowden, and Tom Hill.
They join councillors Rivett and Wiancko. Also the council of the whole has recommended to council that a planning committee be formed consisting of public members and a few councillors.
If approved, the notice for public members will go out after June 4. The Township of Georgian Bay Spring-Summer Recreation and activities brochure is now out for the public to check what is available and locations.
The new room construction at the MacTier Public School is moving right along, as the new addition to the school will soon take form.
A big hole has been dug out and now cement trucks arrive to set up the forms for the base.
MacTier Legion has had a complete inside paint job done, which was badly needed. It looks very nice and was done by volunteers.
That’s about it for this week, it’s a holiday weekend, please take care driving on the roads or on the lakes.
Don’t drink and drive.
