The MacTier Public Library will be changing over to summer hours on May 19: Sunday and Monday, closed; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 1 to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Also, the MacTier Public Library is having a book sale during library hours from May 15 to May 19. Come and check out the selection.
The MacTier Railroad Heritage Society will have its museum located on Haig Street open Saturday starting May 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also, they have tickets on sale for the Katherine Wheatley and Wendall Ferguson concert on July 20. It starts at 8 p.m. and takes place at the MacTier United Church. Tickets are $10 each and society members have them available.
The MacTier Curling Club Men’s Horseshoe League couldn’t get started last Thursday, May 3, due to heavy thunderstorms. They started on May 10.
The Township of Georgian Bay’s fresh food baskets, that everyone paid $15 for for the month of May, will be here May 14. You will be notified by phone of time and place to pick up.
In MacTier Public School news, the new school cookbooks are now on sale for $10 each. Lots of good recipes for everyone to try out.
These will be available at the May 16 Book Fair and Family Eat and Meet. This is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Come have a bite to eat, meet the teachers and chat with friends.
With the school’s renovations and a new classroom under construction, bus pick up and drop offs have changed areas. Parents are advised not to park in front of the school.
The next weekend after this one will be our first holiday weekend of spring/summer.
Traffic will get heavy, there will be lots of boats in the lakes, so get ready for the rush. Have a great week and rest up.
