HUNTSVILLE - Like father, like son.
Honda Canada’s 2011 Council of Sales Leadership Program has recognized the father-son duo of Peter and Sean Morrison from Jason Armstrong’s Huntsville Honda.
Peter has received the program’s sales masters award for the seventh time in his career, while Sean won the program’s sales leader in his first year of employment at the Huntsville dealership. They were presented with their honours at a Honda Canada ceremony on April 13 in Toronto.
“This is the first time in Honda Canada history that they have had a father and son win awards period, let alone in the same year,” said Peter. “I am very appreciative whenever I receive an award. I am so proud of Sean for his accomplishment … winning the award had special meaning for me this year.”
To be eligible for the award, the person has to be a member of the Council of Sales Leadership Program with a certain level of training.
Peter said the awards are based on sales volume, level of factory training the recipient has received and the degree of customer service satisfaction above the zone average. To receive the sales leader award, the recipient must have sold a minimum of 75 new cars while a sales master has to sell at least 145 new cars during one year.
Peter has been selling vehicles for almost 30 years. After 12 years as a salesperson at the Honda dealership, he took on the role of sales manager for 10 years before returning to his first love as a senior salesperson.
Sean had been employed at the business for over a year while finishing school and has recently been promoted to the position of sales and leasing.
“I feel very privileged to receive an award like this one in my first year of sales. It was a great honour that I was also able to go to the awards ceremony and receive my award along with my dad, and be recognized at the same time.”
