HUNTSVILLE - There is always so much to do and see in downtown Huntsville.
The streets of downtown have never looked more beautiful with the gorgeous hanging flowers pots and planters adorning the Main Street.
The colours and blooms are spectacular this year, kudos to the Town of Huntsville parks staff who have diligently watered the plants on a daily basis.
Downtown has been bustling with activity since the July 1st long weekend and it doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon.
The community murals, Nuit Blanche North, farmers market, Arts Splash, Tri Muskoka Festival, Music at Noon, Music on the Dock, Midnight Madness, Novel Marathon, En plein Air painting demonstrations are just a few activities that have taken place on Main Street.
Coming up this month is the 42nd Annual Summer Sidewalk Sale on Saturday Aug. 18.
It is an all day event hosted by the businesses of the Downtown BIA. Be prepared for some great music by the local talents of Papa John, The Muskoka Jazz Guys, The Fern Glen Fiddleheads, The Gibson Brothers and Big East. The festive mood will be set for the entire day.
The Huntsville Lake of Bays Rotary Club is hosting the ever refreshing and fun dunk tank. Joining the downtown activities are many local community groups, such as the CIBC Run for the Cure, Top Hat for Youth, Hospital Auxiliary and Honda for Hospice to name a few.
Returning as well are the ever-popular bouncy castles for kids of all ages. There will also be great food, great deals and lots of fun. The street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Huntsville looks and feels festive come out and enjoy all the great things downtown has to offer.
The beautiful hot weather has played a huge part in bringing the tourists and visitors to our area. The majority of businesses in downtown have mentioned this has been an exceptionally busy season, which has related to greater economic benefits.
Although many admit when the weather does get a little cloudy and overcast shoppers flock to their stores in even greater numbers. So a little rain is always good for business.
