PARRY SOUND – Parry Sound has a real New Year’s newborn for 2013.
Hudson Thomas James Briggs was born on January 1 at 6:46 p.m. Currently relaxing at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, Hudson’s New Year’s birthday was a bit of a surprise for his parents.
Jessica Briggs, mother of Hudson, said they weren’t expecting him quite so early.
“We didn’t expect it because he wasn’t due until the middle of the month,” said Jessica. “It’s exciting.”
“He’s two weeks early,” added father Jonathan Briggs.
Weighing in at 6 lbs. and 7 oz, mom and dad say they are very happy that he’s here now.
The name Hudson was chosen simply because the parents liked it.
“It’s just a name that we liked,” said Jessica. “There’s no real reason behind it.”
The West Parry Sound Health Centre Auxiliary presented the New Year’s Baby with a specially-made Noah’s Ark-themed quilt on Wednesday.
