Halloween haunt at the Dunchurch Community Centre

This Saturday, Nov. 3 is the grand opening event for the new Municipality of Whitestone administration and fire hall complex starting at 10:30 am.  Please RSVP Melissa Crossman at 705-389-2466 or email at info@whitestone.ca.
Remember tonight is the Halloween haunt in the Dunchurch Community Centre from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Treats will be given out at booths so be sure to drop by with the kids.

Legion News
Euchre results for Tuesday, Oct. 23 are as follows:  First, Marlane Andersen with 78; second, Bob Kant with 72; lone hands, Wayne Kenney with four.
Cribbage results for Thursday, Oct. 25 are as follows:  First, Bob Crossman with six wins and 115 points; second, Anne Marie Lawlor with five wins and 224 points; third, Bill Church with four wins and 344 points.
The legion’s annual Hunters’ Dinner is Saturday, Nov. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.  Come out and enjoy a tasty roast beef dinner with potatoes, veggies and pie for dessert all for only $12 per adult and $6 for children under 10.
The next meat draw is this Saturday, Nov 3 at 4 p.m. right after euchre.
Remembrance Day services will be held this weekend on Sunday, Nov. 4 as follows:  Knox Presbyterian Church in Magnetawan at 10:30 a.m; wreath lying at Knox United Church in Dunchurch at approx. 12:30 p.m; McKellar Cenotaph at 1:45 p.m.
Remembrance Day ceremonies will take place at the Legion on Balsam Road on
Sunday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.  All the public are welcome to join the branch members; a second ceremony will be held in the Magnetawan Legion Park at 1:30 p.m.
Last Sunday at the Dunchurch United Church muffins and coffee were served and enjoyed by many.  The church will serve muffin and coffee the last Sunday of each month in the multi-purpose room from 10:15 to11 a.m. and everyone is welcome.  Food collected for Harvest Share included: peanut butter, canned fruit and vegetables, pastas, baby food and much more was delivered by Lynn to Parry Sound.  Thank you everyone for your donations.
The UCW annual Christmas Bazaar is Saturday, Nov. 10 in the multi-purpose room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  It’s a great place to begin your shopping early.
The Whitestone Recreation Committee is having its annual Christmas Craft Sale on Friday, Nov. 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Dunchurch Community Centre.  There are lots of gift ideas and a light lunch will be available on Saturday.
Friends and family are holding a baby shower for Rebecca Green on Saturday,
Nov. 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the multi-purpose room (behind the church). Everyone is invited to come and participate in the fun.  For more information please call Sherry at 705-389-2183.
