Foot clinics to be offered at local legion branch every other Monday

HUNTSVILLE – A new program offered at Huntsville Legion Branch 232 will help seniors put their best foot forward.
The legion has offered space for a foot clinic every other Monday, except when holiday Mondays push the clinic to Tuesday. The clinic is administered by a registered nurse who is fully licensed for foot care.
An estimated 18 people have visited the clinic per operating day since the service became available at the legion about a month ago.
The legion started providing space for the clinic about the same time the Town of Huntsville stopped facilitating a foot clinic at the Active Living Centre. The town said its facility did not fit sanitation requirements for such a service.
The legion’s clinic is open to the public and costs $25. The next clinic is Aug. 20.
Foot clinics typically have trained professionals assess, treat and prevent diseases, disorders or dysfunction of the foot and lower leg.
