A 13-year-old boy from Muskoka Falls Public School was sent to hospital after jumping from a roller coaster in Bracebridge early, Friday, June 22.
Police and paramedics were called to the Santa’s Village theme park in the midday hours after a power outage brought the roller coaster to a halt.
“The boy became frightened and was able to remove himself from the safety mechanism. He jumped from the roller coaster,” said OPP Const. Maureen Tilson.
Tilson said the boy was transported to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto with non-life threatening injuries.
The Technical Safety Standards Authority is investigating what caused the failure..
