Alice Street residents were warned of a minor gas leak on when machinery hit a gas line during construction Thursday morning.

Alice street residents were warned about a gas leak Thursday morning.
The gas line was hit by heavy equipment during road construction on the street.
Gerry Hanes, foreman for CCH Excavating, said the leak was kept under control and wasn’t major enough to evacuate anyone.
The line has been temporarily squeezed off while welders get to the scene.
Hanes expects it to be fixed by the end of the day.
