The best of both worlds and a true mixed breed of small animal veterinary services are set to open in Gravenhurst.
READY FOR BUSINESS.
Dr. Barbara Ann Chidiac is looking forward to the opening of her new location in Gravenhurst on Feb. 28.
Dr. Barbara Ann Chidiac will be opening the doors to the Chidiac Animal Hospital of Gravenhurst beside the post office at 150 Bay Street on Feb. 28. Bringing a wide array of both alternative and traditional veterinary medicine, with about 27 years of experience, Dr. Chidiac said she is “really excited” about her new location in Gravenhurst.
It will represent the second Chidiac Animal Hospital, similar to her Waverley facility that opened in 2003, offering all the latest and the tried-and-true of veterinary science.
“There’s been no compromise on the equipment,” Dr. Chidiac said of the Gravenhurst location, which was designed by architect Peter Archer and boasts the most modern features including digital radiography and heated surgery tables for animal comfort.
She will be joined by an associate veterinarian this spring to help broaden the scope of the animal hospital’s services and has joined with Touch of Love pet groomers to offer their services at the Bay Street location.
“Integrative care is one of the services that make us unique; we integrate modern western medicine with other modalities,” she said. “It’s not just about relying on drugs and vaccinations, rather there are many other ways to look after our pets’ health.”
The hospital will offer small animal surgery and medicine services, vaccine titer testing, nutraceutical supplements, homeopathy and acupuncture, plus chiropractic care and behaviour consultations.
“We bring a really wide range of health and medical options for your pets and we have a very strong interest in optimizing your pet’s health and well-being,” Dr. Chidiac said.
The hospital also offers canine reproduction services with access to one of the only canine frozen semen banks in the province at the Waverley location.
Dr. Chidiac graduated from the Ontario Veterinary Hospital in 1985 and has had ownership in several animal hospitals since 1988 including Elmvale, Penetanguishene and Hillsdale.
