HUNTSVILLE - A real estate company, which has been based in Lake of Bays the past few years, now has a Huntsville presence.
Andrew Bulloch, the sales representative and owner of the Harvey Kalles Real Estate Ltd. Brokerage in Dwight, has opened up his second office, this one located at 93 Main St. East, the former home of The Bookcase book store.
The office was officially opened last Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Bulloch has owned his Lake of Bays company for the past two-and-a-half years, and said that he always wanted to have an office in the Huntsville region.
“I have been looking for years, but locations haven’t always been available. I did go to Lake of Bays first to get some traction in the market, but when this place came up, this was something we had to jump on,” he said.
The former bookstore, which Bulloch said was built in 1897, offers a quaint setting for the new business, with its old-style framework, block-laden walls and attractive frontage, aspects that he said captured his attention immediately, along with the natural surroundings.
“The waterfront is obviously paramount, and having the river view and the tourist transit that goes along it, well, people tend to migrate to the bridge and take pictures, so I felt this was a pretty important location. Historically, this used to be a lawyer’s office, and it is a little off the shopping area, which has always suited itself as a professional office. I think a lot of our clientele is from Toronto and some of them may be familiar with century homes … I think this place will speak to them. It was an expensive endeavour but it was well worth it.”
He said that having the new office will provide his clients with more ease in listing their property or finding the right home for them.
“We have a lot of folks who are from Lake of Bays and we list a lot of property along the waterways. I think having their listing is paramount.”
The Huntsville office will be open year round, while the company’s satellite office in Dwight is closed for the season and will re-open the May 24 weekend, according to Bulloch.
The office will be open Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
