The non-profit organization will begin offering $5 nail trims to cats and dogs on the first Tuesday of every month, starting next week at the Bracebridge Animal Hospital. All proceeds from the event will go to the Muskoka OSPCA.
“We know the OSPCA can always use some help, and many dogs and cats out there need their nails trimmed, and often people can’t afford it,” said Bracebridge Animal Hospital office administrator Christine Stefanczuk. “It’s the best way to help the community as well as the OSPCA.”
The fundraiser will kick off for the first time on Tuesday, Dec. 4, and will run between 12 and 6 p.m. No registrations are required and the service will be done on a walk-in basis. With the days winding down till the fundraiser starts, Stefanczuk said she’s already gotten a lot of positive feedback from the community about the idea.
“I think every month it’ll get busier and busier as people get the word out,” she said.
