New, user-friendly site for Lake of Bays

LAKE OF BAYS - In an effort to improve communication with residents the Township of Lake of Bays has implemented a new, user-friendly website design.
“It’s a totally different look, it’s simplified,” said Carrie Sykes, deputy clerk.
“Previously our website was very busy. We had a lot of information and some of our users were having a hard time trying to find the information. Although it was there you kind of had to wade through everything. All the information is still there, it just doesn’t appear as busy. It’s very accessible, user-friendly and it’s searchable.”
The previous site did not meet the province’s accessibility requirements under the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) accessibility guidelines either. But with the new site that went live at the end of May, residents can easily find information on council meetings, planning applications, employment opportunities, after school programs, seniors groups and more.
“We’ve always been open and tried to provide as much information (as possible) to our residents. The new website just allows them easier access.”
