Parry Sound’s Racing Rabbits.
Seventeen members of the Georgian Nordic Racing Rabbits Cross Country Ski Team competed March 6 and 7 in the Ontario Midget Championships held at Highlands Nordic Ski Club in Duntroon. Skiers aged 8 to 14 from across the province competed in a pursuit race on March 6 and team relay races on March 7. The pursuit race combined each racer’s time in both their classic and skate ski races for their overall placing. Georgian Nordic skied well against some of the best young skiers in Ontario. The peewee girls relay team (Vivi Henry, Jordyn Conn, Lauren Nawroth and Kate Beirnes) placed first while Nicole Ritchie, skiing on a mixed relay team with skiers from other clubs, placed second in the same event.
