Halloween hockey tournament makes a difference

SEGUIN TWP. - On October 26 to 27, the second annual Men’s Halloween Hockey Tournament in Memory of Cam Penfold was held at the Humphrey Community Centre.
The tournament hosted 12 teams in two divisions, as well as a Halloween-themed dance featuring the rock n’ roll music of Jeff Young and the Muskoka Roads Band.
The tournament was once again a great success thanks to all of the participants, volunteers and sponsors. Overall, the tournament was able to give back $5,000 to the Parry Sound community through a donation to the Kinsmen Club of Parry Sound’s Community’s Greatest Needs program. This program provides community members in need with assistance in improving their overall quality of life.
“We are excited to be able to put this money to work within the community we all love and grew up in.” said tournament organizer, Blaine Young. “We’re also proud that we can do this in Cam’s name, as he would be very happy to know that such a difference is being made on his behalf.”
Next year’s tournament is scheduled for October 25-27, 2013 at the Humphrey Community Centre.
