Police charge five in River Street bust

PARRY SOUND – A search of a River Street residence led to the seizure of thousands of dollars worth of marijuana.
On Tuesday, Ontario Provincial Police executed a warrant on a River Street home.
As a result, three men were arrested at the scene while two women were detained and later charged. All of those charged were residents of Parry Sound.
Police found dried marijuana with an estimated street value of $12,690, a large quantity of wet marijuana, hydromorphone capsules and drug paraphernalia. A variety of ammunition was also seized.
Corey Brownley, 38, has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance over 30 grams, one count of possession of a controlled substance schedule I other drugs, one count of possession for the purpose schedule II under three kilograms, careless storage of ammunition and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. He was held in  custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Charges
Donald Brownley, 49, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance over 30 grams, one count of possession of a controlled substance schedule I other drugs, one count of possession for the purpose schedule II under three kilograms, careless storage of ammunition and possession of ammunition while prohibited. He was also held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
Kyle McEwen, 29, was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance under 30 grams and one count of possession of a controlled substance, schedule I other drugs. McEwen’s first court appearance will be on January 31 in Parry Sound.
Betty Guenette, 49, and Beatrice Brownley, 70, were each charged with one count of possession for the purpose, schedule II under three kilograms. They were served an appearance notice with a first appearance date of January 31 in Parry Sound.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
