Man sent to Toronto hospital following Sunday accident

HUNTSVILLE - Huntsville OPP are currently investigating an incident on Sunday that sent one local man to hospital.

According to police, a call came into the Huntsville OPP detachment just before 3 p.m. of a report of a snowmobile crash on Longs Lake near Utterson. It was reported that a group of people were conducting radar runs on the ice when a track on one of the machines broke. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Peter Wagg of Huntsville, was thrown from the machine, lost his helmet and hit the ice. He was transported to a Toronto hospital with life threatening injuries.

Muskoka EMS personnel also attended the scene of the accident.
Investigators with the OPP’s Central Region technical traffic collision unit came to the Long Lake location to assist officers with their investigation.
