MUSKOKA - Snowmobilers are going to have to wait a little longer before they take their machines to the trails.
According to the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs interactive trail guide, trails throughout Muskoka are still closed as crews work to prepare them for the winter.
The one exception according to the website on Monday is the 8.1-kilometre Trunk Trail, maintained by the Snowcrest Riders Snowmobile club in Gravenhurst, which has limited availability.
Sandi Clarke, office administrator for the club, said most of the trails they maintain are still off limits due to lack of snow. The only ones open are “where ever we don’t have swamp issues.”
She said crews are out packing the trails but there needs to be more snow before the trails will be opened.
According to the website both the Muskoka Lakes Snow Trails Association in Port Carling and the Muskoka Sno-Bombers in Bracebridge do not have any trails open.
