HUNTSVILLE - The Huntsville Atom AE Otters traveled to Midland this past Sunday for a game against the Midland squad and were handed their first loss of the season.
Owen Buczek was very solid between the pipes and saved four point blank shots in the third to keep it close for the majority of the game. Cole Patey had two goals in the contest with Holman scoring on a feed from Markle. The final score was 6-3 for Midland.
The Otters travelled to Port Carling for a game Wednesday, Oct 17. and chalked up their seventh win of the season.
The Port Carling squad put up a great fight in the first period with their captain, Jamie Boyd, showing some tremendous skill.
The first period ended in a 3-3 tie. After some suggestions from coach Jason Farnsworth between periods, the Otters were leading 9-5 after the second. As has been the case so far this year, the boys turned it up a notch in the third period and scored 14 goals for the victory. Scoring for the Otters were Taylor Cottrill with six, Patey with five, Jack Lockwood with four, a hat trick from Cooper Haynes, two goals from Brayden Holman with singles going to Nathan Markle, Wes Farnsworth and D-man Tysen Robb. Goalie Cole Frasier got the win.
