HUNTSVILLE - Songs have been learned. Lines memorized. Sets designed and painted. Props and costumes procured. Posters and programs printed.
And Chaffey Hall has been transformed into an 84-seat studio theatre.
The Huntsville Community Theatre Company is ready to entertain you with their production of The Spitfire Grill which opened on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and will play on Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27.
After 3 1/2 months of rehearsals, the cast and crew, ranging in age from 14 to… well let’s just say on the brighter side of 60, are ready for an audience.
“It’s a very exciting time this week just before opening,” said producer Jan Jacklin. “The show just seems to all come together, with all hands on deck completing their responsibilities. There is a lot that goes into putting a musical together. The technicalities alone can prove to be quite tricky until you find out that your technical director has it all under control.”
The Spitfire Grill is the story of a feisty parolee who follows her dreams to a small town in Wisconsin and finds a place for herself working at Hannah’s Spitfire Grill. There’s an abundance of warmth, spirit and goodwill and some of the most engaging and instantly infectious melodies you will hear in any of today’s musicals.
Advance tickets are available for $15 at Treasures and Trophies or admission is $18 at the door.
