GRAVENHURST - Lake Muskoka will rock in deeper tones Sept. 22 when the Wenonah II hosts the first-ever fall Blues Cruise.
Presented by Peter’s Players of Gravenhurst, an afternoon of jazz and rock blues in the cool lake breezes will set sail for Millionaire’s Row on a four-hour tour.
Peter Swanek, who along with Michelle Swanek collected two top-notch acts for the tour, said spring blues tours the past four years proved so popular he had to take advantage of the fall colours and crisp air, too.
“The last three years the (spring) cruises have sold right out and we wanted to do something for the fall season,” he said.
The cruise runs from 11:45 a.m. through 4 p.m. with each act performing 90-minute sets.
The blues feature is the Cameo Blues Band who did perform at Pete’s Player’s last summer. Anchored by blues-rock vocalist John Dickie, the five-piece band plays a mix of original and classic blues.
The Tony Monaco Trio is a famed American group and multi-time top 10 charters of Jazzweek.
“Both bands will be playing Hammond organs too, so there’s going to be a great authentic sound out on the lake,” Swanek added. “It’s just such a great way to see and hear some live blues and jazz that we don’t see a lot of around here.”
The tour includes a catered lunch. Ticket information is available through www.petersplayers.com or 705-687-2117.
