Calling all collectors of Terry Fox Run T-shirts

COLLECTABLES:. Terry Fox Run organizers are hoping to reach their $1 million fundraising mark with the help of a vintage T-shirt sale. The annual run happens Sunday, Sept. 16.
HUNTSVILLE - “Got ‘em, need ‘em, want ‘em!”
This is the cry of collectors everywhere.
Organizers of the 32nd annual Terry Fox Run in Huntsville want collectors of T-shirts from past runs to help Huntsville reach their goal of $1 million raised with a vintage T-shirt sale. Collectors can bring their gently used Terry Fox T-shirts for donation and these shirts can be purchased for $5. Shirts from years past will be on display for all to see. If there is one you’ve been missing, this could be your chance to nab it!
Of course, the striking 2012 edition of the Terry Fox T-shirt will also be on sale at Huntsville High School on Sunday, Sept. 16, the day of the race.
Prior to race day, the new shirts may be purchased at Scotiabank in the Huntsville Place Mall. Adult shirts are sold for $17 while the children’s version is $15.
As a community, Huntsville is $37,000 away from reaching the $1 million mark for money raised through local efforts.
Race organizer Bill Coon said he is thrilled to be this close to such a major goal.
“Our community has been so supportive and we are so close. If every person in the Huntsville area donates $2, we can do this. We encourage everyone to join us on Sunday morning. There are no entry fees or minimum donations. Remember Terry’s words … If you’ve given a dollar, you are part of the Marathon of Hope.”
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and start time is 11 a.m.
Participants can walk, run, bike, and rollerblade their way around the scenic course.
Get your family, officemates, and sports teams together and come out to help Huntsville reach the $1-million mark.
Donations may be made online at www.terryfox.org and specify funds to be directed to the Huntsville Run Site.
In town, donations are accepted at Scotiabank in the Huntsville Place Mall, and at the Muskoka Medical Centre Pharmacy, in the Huntsville Professional Building.
