Discount opening up rental market in town

HUNTSVILLE – Recognizing a need for a vehicle rental market in Muskoka, Jason Armstrong saw an opportunity to improve the customer service experience at both his Honda and Hyundai dealerships by bringing in Discount Car and Truck Rental.
“I wanted to provide the same level of customer service to the community in the rental industry that we provide at both Huntsville Honda and Hyundai of Muskoka,” said Armstrong. “It’s all about customer service.”
Opening at the start of the month, Discount has 10 vehicles in its fleet that are shared between the two locations.
“We are anticipating early growth of the fleet as demand has started to come in, not only from local areas that now know we’re here but also from the call centre,” said rental manager Kelly Hammond.
She said both Armstrong and Discount pride themselves on outstanding customer service so it was natural for the two to come together. Hammond has more than 20 years of customer service experience from the retail industry and, as a local resident, she’s confident in her ability to meet the needs of the community.
“Discount doesn’t want to be known for its cars, it wants to be known for its customer service,” said Hammond.
With the promotions offered by Discount, she said it’s often easy to rent a car for less than the cost of a bus ticket. They also offer free pick-up and drop-off service for customers in Huntsville.
“We are very excited with this new venture,” Hammond said. “We plan on servicing the community and fulfilling the needs and the demand and establishing ourselves as the best rental experience in Muskoka.”
