Auburn Gallery presents Jack Zhou

MUSKOKAN - In the fourth instalment of Auburn Gallery’s summer show selection, spectacular new paintings by master oil painter Jack Zhou, will be on display from Aug. 25 to Sept. 7.
This marks the third solo for Zhou at Auburn since 2007. Highly anticipated new works in “en plein air,” as well as large studio canvases will be on sale for the duration.
Subject matter depicts the artists favourite haunts throughout Muskoka and Algonquin Park.
With recent appointments to city hall in Toronto and a substantial private collection by past mayor, David Miller, Zhou has become a staple in the Canadian arts landscape.
High-profile placements brought the international art world calling and in recent years, Zhou’s work has been exhibited across North America by galleries in New York, Arizona and Chicago.
Zhou’s technique of a stylized version of pointillism sets his canvases apart from the average landscape. Every stroke brings the compositions to life with vibrant depth and colour, often eliciting gasps from his viewers.
As quoted by a fellow artist at Zhou’s last exhibition, “You can’t help but realize you are in the presence of greatness when attending one of his shows.”
Gallery doors open at 10 a.m., and refreshments will be served at 1 p.m. Auburn Gallery of Fine Art is located at 190 Royal St. Gravenhurst.
