GRAVENHURST - From Modified Rides and Model Ts to Bikes and Trikes, the 19th Annual Gravenhurst Car Show hosts over 200 vehicles and motorcycles this Saturday, June 16 at Rotary Gull Lake Park. Sponsored by Canadian Tire, the event is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and promises a full day of activity for enthusiasts and guests.
Catering to all ages, new this year is a kiddie corner in the playground area of the park complete with cotton candy, popcorn, activities, face painting and bouncy castle.
Sawdust City Brewery is operating a “Junetoberfest”-style pig roast and beer garden. Enjoy the DJ’s selections throughout the day and a live band performance at 11:30 a.m.
“It’s a given that the vehicles and bikes on display are the main attraction, but our goal was to plan an event that would provide entertainment, great food and fun for all ages,” said Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce marketing coordinator Tara Bartok. “This event is a must for car and bike lovers, but I’m sure anyone who attends will be become repeat guests for years to come.”
The event kicks of with a hot breakfast hosted by the Gravenhurst Legion from 7:30 to 10 a.m.
Admission to the show is $5 for adults and children under 12 are free. Event proceeds are used for the planning of the next year’s event.
The day consists of hourly draws, ongoing giveaways and thousands of dollars in prizes.

“Although this is the 19th year of the event, I feel we are just starting to recognize the true potential and look forward to taking this great event to the next level.”
Guests are encouraged to cast their vote for the Piston Cup, People’s Choice Award. Prizes are also awarded for the categories: Best Custom, Best Original, Best Hot Rod and Best Motorcycle. The winner of the Piston Cup will be featured on the promotional and marketing materials for the 2013 20th Annual Gravenhurst Car Show including the posters, dash plaques and T-shirts.
While at the show be sure to shop uptown Gravenhurst for an opportunity to win the Ultimate Father’s Day Backyard Prize Package. Coordinated by the Gravenhurst BIA, the prize package will be drawn live at the car show at 3:30 p.m. By shopping uptown you will receive a ballot to win the prize package, which includes a Kenmore barbecue grill, apron, utensils, Tilley hat, hammock and cooler.
