New Hospice Huntsville fundraiser launched

New Hospice Huntsville fundraiser launched. BUILDING A DREAM: Melissa Polischuck and Dr. Deb Harrold from Hospice Huntsville are joined in front of construction on the new residential hospice by donors Elizabeth Rice and Bob Bullock to kick off a new fundraiser. The donors will match any other donations made in the next couple of weeks to $7,500. Pamela Steel
HUNTSVILLE - The newest fundraising initiative from Hospice Huntsville doubles donation dollars. Two well-known community residents, Bob Bulloch and Elizabeth Rice, have started the Matchmakers Campaign. Bulloch and Rice have both agreed to donate $2,500 to match any community donations in the next couple of weeks.
For every dollar donated, they will match it, to $5,000. Bulloch has done this for other charities before and has found that when someone has $20 to donate, it means much more if they know the matching donation will bump that up to $40.
“The matchmaker program really works,” he said. “We’re hoping to find other big money people to put up $1,000 or more.”
Soon after saying that, Bulloch signed on Peter and Carol Schwarzl to match an additional $2,500. Hospice Huntsville’s dreams are becoming a reality. The residential hospice building is changing daily; the cement is poured, the walls and roof trusses are up.
“I can’t wait to get to work every day to see the progress being made,” said Dr. Deb Harrold, board president.
The organization’s fundraising efforts continue in full swing. Hospice Huntsville’s capital campaign committee is busy working with private and corporate donors to secure the remaining approximately $400,000 to reach their $1.6 million capital campaign.
Contact Hospice Huntsville today to make a donation to the Matchmaker’s Campaign. You can stop by the office, call 705-789-6878, or email hospiceh@vianet.ca.
