The Rotary Club of Parry Sound presented a cheque for $4,000 to Councilman Bruce Gibbon of Seguin Township, on April 17, to be used for improvements on the Rose Point Trail.
These funds are to help pay for vista clearings, benches, and improvements needed to make the trail more attractive for users. Seguin has pledged to match all of the Rotary Club's donations towards the improvements of the Rose Point Trail.
Bruce thanked the club for it's donation and told the members that the trail has seen a huge increase in users over the past two years.
Bruce was enthusiastic about the partnership that has developed between the township and The Rotary Club of Parry Sound and said how beneficial it has been for the improvements on the Rose Point Trail.
The club raised the funds for this project by selling cash calendars last Christmas.
This was a lottery calendar where a cash prize is awarded each day of the year to a lucky person who bought a calendar. The club sold over 200 calendars.
