Spring euchre tournament on the horizon
Christie Senoir News
I hope you all had a good Easter. Its great to see the daffodils and spring flowers are already blooming.
I was away for a couple of weeks in March and went to Palm Springs and San Diego to get some sunshine.
The week in Palm Springs was great but you had much better weather here than we had in San Diego.
It rained for three days and they are only supposed to get ten days of rain a year.
However, it was a great trip and made a nice break in the winter.
March was a good month for Chris Chapman at cards.
She now has the top score of the year with 398.
This will be hard to beat.
She also had three games over 300.
Winners for March were: March 6 – Eugene Francis, Marilyn Watkinson, Chris Chapman and Gerry Schmidt tied for third.
March 13 – Chris Chapman, Merv Hicks and Doris Klose; March 20 – Chris Chapman, Ron Ritchie and Bob Beirness; and March 27 – Ross Chapman, Ron Ritchie and Doris Klose.
Our spring bid euchre tournament is on Thursday, May 3. Cards start at 10:30 a.m. Pre-registration is preferred.
Please call me at 705-746-5836 if you wish to register.
We are continuing to play cards Tuesday afternoons at 1 p.m. but will change to evenings at 7 p.m. on May 22.
We usually have a lot of summer people come to play cards. We have had several new members this year and welcome anyone who would care to join us.
Our sincere sympathy goes to Marilyn Helmkay and her family on the death of her husband, Edward.
Also we hope that Ruth Bailey will soon be feeling much better.
Birthday wishes for April go to Alice Bissonnette, Chris Chapman, Marilyn Watkinson, John Klose, Colin Wonch, Jean Pennington, Terry Wilson, Jim Cole and Gerry Schmidt.
