Huntsville Forester

Nuit Blanche North is currently the best reason to love Dan Watson. He made that amazing night in Huntsville sing with his energy, his talent and his singular ability to bring out the artist in us all.

Watson is the big giant brain behind Edge of the Woods Theatre, and with that group he's been breaking creative ground in Muskoka for years.

This past weekend, working with Festival of the Arts (need to talk more about the amazing Rob Saunders in a later post), Watson turned the streets of our town into a party for the neuroreceptors. People's eyes lit up as they were entertained in a way that made them think outside the box. Sweet.

And lest you think it was all just so much high-brow posturing, the theme of the night was "play."

And play we did. Huntsville came out in great numbers to interact with buskers, listen to junkyard bands, watch men eat fire and women seduce with it, and to fight their way through a tent full of balloons.

I could go on. But in the end, if you were there, you know. Because you were a part of the whole performance.
