Her name is Coach Jennifer. And she rocks.

She rocks in a hardline, get your little butt out there and shine, kind of way.

As summer unfolds, she spends her time on the soccer pitch with a bunch of unruly 10-year-olds, teaching them the finer points of the beautiful game.

She's as busy as the rest of us, with a job and a family and a million responsibilities, but she shows up at least four days a week to coach.

And she's good. I know because I have coached, and she's so much better than I will ever be. She's got a great knowledge of the game, but it's more than that.

Coach Jennifer oozes enthusiasm. For the game. For the kids - even for the parents.

She is just one of the many volunteer coaches in this town, and she makes a difference in the lives of children, and families, every day she puts on her cleats and runs out on that field.

For today, she's my hero.

Thanks Coach.
