• A workshop for single parenting, hosted by Muskoka Family Focus will take place at Huntsville Public School. The workshop runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Discuss ways to meet the challenges unique to single parenting and how to cultivate a loving, harmonious family life. Registration is required, call 645-3027.
March 4
• Muskoka, 2010 Winter Games celebrations begin. This province-wide celebration of youth, sportsmanship, discipline and excellence runs from March 4 to 7. There will be numerous events around Muskoka, access: 2010ontariowintergames.ca for more information.
March 5
• A World Day Prayer Ecumenical service is being held at St. Mary’s Church at 1 p.m. The service has been written by Women of Cameroon, Africa. The guest speaker is missionary Paulette Wyville. Refreshments will follow. Everyone welcome.
• Circle Dancing will be held at Trinity United Church from 7 to 9 p.m. Please use the side entrance. Dance for relaxation, joy, growth, awareness, healing and global peace. No partner or previous experience required. Dress comfortably, all ages cultures, genders and spiritual beliefs welcome. A free will offering is appreciated to help with the church heating system.
March 8
• There will be an International Women’s Day Celebration concert at Trinity United Church from 7 to 9 p.m. The line up will include Ruth Cassie, Linda MacLean, Tina Turley, Christine Heron, Sherisse Stevens, The Larks, The Suzuki Strings and more. All proceeds will go to the YWCA Muskoka self-esteem programs for boys and girls.
March 17
• The Huntsville Community Choir and friends present You don’t have to be Irish St. Patrick’s Day at the Algonquin Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available at the box office.
• Bid euchre at Chaffey Hall from 1 to 4 p.m. Event costs $5 and includes dessert and coffee. The event is hosted by the Lioness Club of Huntsville.
